The Murthal is a village in the Sonipat district. Although all caste people live in the Murthal but it has majority of Jaats and it was settled by Jaat caste people.
Almost all Jaats belong to Antil Gotra but now the things have been totally changed, all caste people live in the village.
It was just a simple village like other villages of Sonipat district but it got popularity due to its Dhabas. And it is situated on the GT road (Grand Trunk Road) so it was a quick stop point for travelers on the GT road.
People used to halt on Murthal to refresh themselves on the GT road. GT road starts from Peshawar in Pakistan and goes up to Kolkata in India.
Initially, Murthal was a quick stay point for Truck drivers as there some normal Dhaba’s were there for truck drivers. Now there are more than 50 small and big Dhaba’s in Murthal.
